It all starts with the core. The Walker Stove® utilizes modern refractory materials and techniques to create a highly insulated burn chamber and combustion unit in a durable, modular core.
Why Insulate?
By insulating all around the burning fuel, and along the path the gasses travel beyond the fuel feed area, the heat of combustion is focused on the fuel until it is completely consumed. Rather than attempt to use heat from the combustion area to heat the space, the stove’s cook top and bell, and any subsequent mass thermal storage, are downstream of the combustion areas. In this way, complete combustion is assured.
Since then, sharing these clean efficient wood burning stoves with as many as possible became the goal. With hundreds of examples in use all over the world, Walker Stoves® plans are sharing warmth.
